About TransferRocket
File transfers that work the way you do
We build a fast, secure, and affordable file transfer service for creators and freelancers, designed around how people actually share files rather than how subscription services want to charge for them.
Why we built TransferRocket
Most file transfer services were built for one kind of user: someone who sends large files every day, every week, every month, on a predictable cadence. They charge a monthly subscription that makes sense for that user and quietly overcharges everyone else.
Freelancers, photographers, videographers, designers and other creatives don't fit that mould. Some months you're delivering four large projects. Other months you're in research, sales or planning mode and sending nothing at all. Paying a subscription either way doesn't always make sense.
TransferRocket is built around a different idea. You pay per transfer, calculated transparently from file size and storage duration. Transfers up to 5 GB are free. Larger transfers cost a one-time fee, and you see the price upfront before you commit. No monthly bill in months you don't send anything. No annual commitment to access fair pricing. No cross-subsidising heavy users.
Beyond pricing, we've built the rest of the product to the same standard. Customer-managed encryption for users who need full control. Storage region selection for GDPR compliance. Password protection free on every transfer. Built-in file preview, dark mode, and a focused interface that gets out of your way.

What we believe
Principles, not platitudes
Every product is built around assumptions about how people work and what they value. Here are ours, said out loud.

- Pay-per-use as an option
- Most file transfer services charge a flat monthly fee whether you use them or not. We believe usage-based pricing is fairer for the many users who don't need to send files every day. Pay-per-use is and will remain a core option.
- No ads
- Some competitors offset their free tier with intrusive ads on the download page recipients see. We don't, and we have no plans to. Your transfer page is a representation of you.
- You own your data
- Your files are yours. We never train on them, we never sell access to them, and with our customer-managed encryption option, we can't even read them. The bar for trust on a service that handles your files should be high.
- Quality doesn't have to be expensive
- Professional-grade file transfer used to mean enterprise contracts and per-seat pricing. We've spent considerable effort proving it doesn't have to. The same security, the same reliability, at a fraction of the cost.
- Strive for excellence
- There are file transfer services that work, and there are file transfer services that work well. We're focused on the second category. Every feature, every interaction, every detail of the experience is built with care.

Founder, TransferRocket
Chris has spent more than 15 years building production software across frontend, backend and cloud, with a strong background in native mobile development. He's led engineering teams, shipped consumer-facing products to large audiences, and built the kind of distributed systems that handle real-world scale.
TransferRocket is the result of bringing that experience to a part of the software market that's overdue for a rethink. The technical foundations matter, but so do the product decisions, the pricing model, and the small details of how the software actually feels to use.
